Louisiana Avenue northbound and southbound under the Louisiana Avenue Overpass, Lafayette Parish, Road Closure

Louisiana Avenue, northbound and southbound, under the Louisiana Avenue Overpass in Lafayette Parish will be closed on Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, for the construction of the Louisiana Avenue bridge rail.
This work is estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.
The detour for Louisiana Avenue northbound traffic will be I-10 eastbound to LA 328 to I-10 westbound back to Louisiana Avenue northbound.
The detour for Louisiana Avenue southbound traffic will be I-10 westbound to I-49 to I-10 eastbound back to Louisiana Avenue southbound.
Emergency vehicles will not have access to the area during the closure.
The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to LA 328 (Breaux Bridge).
The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
