The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advise the public that LA 174, Sabine Parish, will be closed at the Kansas City Southern Railroad track. The work being performed is approximately 0.1 of a mile from the intersection of US 171 and LA 174 on LA 174. The closure will be Monday, July 1, 2019 at 7:00AM with a reopening to traffic at 7:00PM on Tuesday July 2, 2019. The closure is for Kansas City Southern Railroad to change the tries thru the crossing surface.

Permit/Detour section
The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time. The detour will be LA 174 to US 171 to LA 483 to LA 174. The detour can accept oversized loads. The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
