The right lane of I-10 eastbound from mile marker 108 (LA 31 overpass) to mile marker 106 (Sawmill Road overpass) will be closed on Wednesday, June 12 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.
This closure is necessary to repair a damaged crash attenuator.
The alternate route for traffic is I-49 to US 190 back to I-10 eastbound.
Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through this lane closure because there is no shoulder on either side of the roadway. No detour.
The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to LA 328 (Breaux Bridge).
The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
