Tuesday, June 04, 2019 at 9:22:47 AM
UPDATE: This closure has been extended to Tuesday, June 4 at 8:00 p.m. until Wednesday, June 5 at 12:00 a.m., weather permitting.
The outside lane of I-10 westbound between mile marker 115.3 and 114.8 will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, June 3, at 8:00 p.m. until Tuesday, June 4, at 12:00 a.m., weather permitting.

This closure is necessary to allow the contractor to install joint seals on the I-10 bridge over LA 347.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project Number H.003014). This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from LA 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in 2020.
