ROAD REOPENED - OLD US 51 IN ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH
Water has receded and the road is open.

EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE - OLD US 51 IN ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH
Old US 51 (aka the Low Road) between Milepoint 1 and Milepoint 8 in St. John the Baptist Parish is closed until further notice due to water over the roadway. Motorists are advised to avoid this area. I-55 should be used as an alternate route.
LADOTD reminds motorists to drive safely and be on the lookout for crews and possible high water over the roadways.
