UPDATE REOPENED: Emergency Road Closure / LA 834 / Morehouse Parish

UPDATE: LA 834, at the location described below, has been reopened to traffic.

ROAD CLOSURE
Effective immediately, LA 834 in Morehouse Parish will be closed at a location 1.2 miles west of the intersection of LA 834 and US 165. This closure is required due to rising flood waters overtopping the roadway. Once flood waters recede, the roadway will be assessed and will be reopened when deemed safe for traffic.
DOTD reminds motorists to NEVER drive around ‘road closed’ barricades at any time for any reason. Also, remember to never drive through standing or running water.
PERMIT/DETOUR
The detour route will be US 165, LA 140, and LA 591.
