The outside lane and westbound exit ramp of I-10 westbound (east of LA 347 Grand Point Highway), between mile markers 115.5 and 114.75, will be closed beginning Sunday, March 31, at 8:00 p.m. until Monday, April 1, at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

This closure is necessary to allow the contractor to perform testing on the asphaltic concrete surfacing on the outside lane of I-10, as well as, to prepare the ramps for the traffic switch onto the newly constructed sections of ramps.

The detour for traffic heading southbound or northbound on LA 347, continue on I-10 to Exit 109 – LA 328 in Breaux Bridge and then back to I-10 eastbound to Exit 115 – LA 347. Traffic heading south will take a right at the intersection of LA 347, northbound traffic will turn left.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project Number H.003014). This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from LA 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in 2020.
