Friday, February 15, 2019 at 3:49:08 PM

UPDATE: THE CLOSURE SCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

LA 347 (Grand Point Highway) under the I-10 Overpass will be closed nightly beginning Monday February 11 at 8 p.m. until Saturday, February 16 at 6 a.m., weather permitting

This closure is necessary to allow crews to replace the steel girder on the I-10 overpass and to pour concrete curbing along LA 347.

The detour for northbound traffic will be I-10 eastbound to Exit 121 – LA 3177 (Butte La Rose) and then back on I-10 westbound to Exit 115 – LA 347 or continue on I-10 westbound.

The detour for southbound traffic will be I-10 westbound to Exit 109 – LA 328 (Rees Street) in Breaux Bridge and then back on I-10 eastbound to Exit 115 – LA 347 or continue on I-10 eastbound.

The road will be open to regular traffic with an 18-foot lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.

Emergency vehicles will have access to the area.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project Number H.003014). This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from LA 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in 2020.
