I-10 Eastbound between Mile Markers 117 and 118.5, St. Martin Parish, Lane & Shoulder Closure
Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 3:01:31 PM
The left inside lane and shoulder of I-10 eastbound between mile markers 117 and 118.5, will be closed beginning Thursday, January 17, until Tuesday, January 22, weather permitting.

This closure is estimated to take place nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

This closure is necessary to allow the contractor to move barriers currently in the I-10 eastbound left lane roadway at the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge and widen the lanes leading to the eastbound Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project Number H.003014). This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from LA 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in 2020.
