Louisiana Avenue northbound and southbound under I-10 between the on and off ramps will be closed on the nights of Friday, January 11 and Saturday, January 12, due to construction on the overpass.

This closure is estimated to take place each night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

The detour for northbound traffic will be I-10 eastbound to LA 328 (Rees Street) to I-10 westbound to Louisiana Avenue northbound.

The detour for southbound traffic will be I-10 westbound to I-49 to I-10 eastbound to the eastbound off ramp at Louisiana Avenue.

The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).

The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
