UPDATE: This closure has been extended to include Saturday, December 15, weather permitting.

LA 96 will be closed to traffic at the intersection of LA 182 on Thursday, December 13 at 6 a.m. until Friday, December 14 at 6 p.m., due to construction.

The detour for LA 96 traffic will be St. Nazaire Road.

Emergency vehicles will NOT have access to LA 96.

Additionally, LA 182 will be reduced to one lane approaching LA 96 in both directions on Thursday, December 13 and Friday, December 14, due to construction.

This closure is estimated to take place daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting..

As part of the Geaux South program, current work underway is related to the $57.1 million design-build project that involves widening US 90 to six-lanes from Albertson Parkway to north of the Ambassador Caffery intersection. The project will also construct an overpass along US 90 above Albertson Parkway, a new railroad overpass and modify the adjacent frontage roads. Work on the project is slated for completion in spring 2019.
