Lane closures coming to I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge – Calcasieu Parish

Upcoming maintenance work on the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge (between MP 27-29) will include alternating lane closures beginning October 8 and continuing through November 5.

The closures are necessary to perform additional repairs following a bridge inspection and to prevent unplanned closures in the future.

“It’s unfortunate these closures have to occur, and we understand the impact this inconvenience will have,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “However, as our infrastructure across the state ages, these types of unscheduled maintenance efforts will occur more frequently as we try to maintain safe and reliable travel. We are making an effort to ensure I-10 repair work will not be needed during the I-210 repair project.”

The below chart shows the pattern for lane closures. The full closures will occur on weekends to minimize impact. The I-10 closures will not coincide with the I-210 Prien Lake Bridge closures.

Motorist are advised to use I-210 as a detour route during the full closures.

All work is weather permitting and the schedule is subject to change.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds motorists to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
