LA 42 Widening and Improvements, Road Closure
Construction has begun for State Project H.002370, LA 42 Widening. The project consists of grading, drainage structures, subgrade treatment, drilled shaft foundations, traffic signalization, landscaping, asphalt concrete pavement, portland cement concrete pavement, and related work in Ascension Parish.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there will be road closure of LA 73 on Saturday, June 23rd at 6:30 am until 6:00 pm with a detour in place. LA 73 will be closed in both directions 15' north of LA 42. Soundbound traffic will be detoured to LA 427 to US 61 to LA 42. Northbound traffic will be detoured through the same route, LA 42 to US 61 to LA 427. Work in this area consists of completing the drainage work from US 61 thru LA 73. Work will be completed weather permitting. No permit or oversize loads along with emergency vehicles will be able to pass.
