UPDATE: LANE CLOSURES - I-20: Texas state line to Monkhouse Drive, Caddo Parish


UPDATE: The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that going forward some intermittent daytime lane closures will be allowed west of Exit 5 on I-20 in Caddo Parish as part of the ongoing mill & overlay project.

While the major work is still being performed at night, motorists should be prepared for some smaller construction activities to take place during the day as the project progresses, weather permitting.

Original notification:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Monday, April 30, 2018, work will begin on a $17.2 million project to significantly improve the traveling experience on I-20 from the Texas state line to just east of Monkhouse Drive in Shreveport, Caddo Parish.

This project will patch, mill, and overlay over 13 miles of the interstate in both directions, as well as shoulders. As part of this work, there will be nightly lane closures within the project limits, scheduled to take place from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

This first phase of construction is anticipated to last approximately 60 days. A second phase of construction will follow and will be covered under an additional notification at that time.

While the progress of construction activities is dependent on weather conditions, this project is expected to be complete in Spring 2019.

Alternate Route: Alternate route will be US 80.

Restrictions/Permits: Width restrictions will be 16 feet

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
