The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, work will begin on the Welcome Cemetery Road Bridge Replacement Project on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 and will continue for approximately (4) four months. This bridge replacement project is located on Welcome Cemetery Road over Menace Creek which is approximately 0.40 miles east of the intersection with LA 465 and 1.50 miles west of the intersection with LA 8. This 0.071 mile long bridge replacement project will receive clearing and grubbing, grading, class II base course, superpave asphaltic, concrete slab span bridge, precast concrete piles and related work.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, W.E. McDonald & Son, LLC, in the amount of $392,262.50.
Permit/Detour Section
The contractor will begin removal of the existing structure on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 and the roadway will be closed to all local and through traffic for the duration of the project.
