Lafourche Parish- La 654 Champagne-Harrelson Lift Bridge-RESCHEDULED DUE TO WINTER WEATHER

The Champagne-Harrelson Lift Bridge over Bayou Lafourche at LA 654 will be closed overnight to vehicular traffic from 7:00 pm Tuesday January 23 to 6:00 am Wednesday, January 24, 2018. This closure is necessary to allow DOTD contractors to replace the balance chain pins on the counterweights. This work is part of a $658,000 project to replace mechanical components on 4 vertical lift bridges in Lafourche, Terrebonne and Iberia Parishes.
Alternate routes around the closure are as follows:
The LA 182 Lift Bridge 5.0 miles north in Raceland.
The LA 3220 swing bridge (Belle View Bridge) 4.0 miles south in Lockport.
