The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that beginning Thursday, January 4 until Wednesday, January 10, the northbound and southbound left lanes of LA 176 (Moss Street) at I-10, will be closed for the demolition of the concrete bridge rail.

This closure is estimated to take place nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., weather permitting.

The detour southbound will use LA 98 (East Gloria Switch Road) to US 167 to LA 94 (East Simcoe Street) then back to LA 176 (Moss Street) and reversed for the other direction (northbound).

Local traffic will be able to use East Pont Des Mouton Road and Castille Avenue.

There are no restrictions for permit loads.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.

The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).

The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
