Broussard, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that LA 96 will be closed at its intersection with LA 182 in Broussard beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 17 until 6 a.m. on Monday, November 20, for road construction, weather permitting.

The detour route will be LA 182, US 90 and St. Nazaire Road.

Emergency vehicles will NOT have access to the area.

As part of the Geaux South program, current work underway is related to the $57.1 million design-build project that involves widening US 90 to six-lanes from Albertson Parkway to north of the Ambassador Caffery intersection. The project will also construct an overpass along US 90 above Albertson Parkway, a new railroad overpass and modify the adjacent frontage roads. Work on the project is slated for completion in summer 2018.
