CLOSURE NOTICE - EXTENSION
LA 312 (also known as Lafayette Street) from High Street to Bond Street (also known as Tunnel Blvd) will remain closed for an additional 1 ½ weeks, thru November 6, 2017. The right lane of Bond Street (also known as Tunnel Blvd) will be closed at Lafayette St, with a merging taper starting at Church St. The intersections of both Point Street and Academy Street with Lafayette Street will be closed to westbound thru traffic.
This closure(s) to vehicular traffic is needed in order to allow LADOTD’s contractor to perform parish sanitary sewer improvements and patch the existing roadway prior to an asphalt overlay.
Alternate routes available around the LA 312 (Lafayette St) closure(s) are as follows:
Northbound traffic on Lafayette Street will be detoured west to Canal Street.
Southbound traffic on Lafayette Street will be detoured west to Barataria Ave.
Westbound on Academy Street and Point Street will be detoured to Grinage St.
