LA 44: Black Bayou Bridge Replacement Detour, Ascension Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning Friday, September 15, a detour route will be in place for the LA 44 bridge at Black Bayou. Traffic will be diverted onto the constructed temporary detour road in order to begin work on the permanent structure and roadway. Subsequently, access to William Ficklin Road will be shut down. This detour on the project and William Ficklin Road closure are expected to last approximately six months, weather permitting.
