The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Wednesday, July 26 until Sunday, July 30, the westbound outside and shoulder lanes of I-10 from LA 347 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge will be closed for asphalt paving and striping.

The closure is estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

There are no restrictions for permit loads.

An alternate route is US 190.

Additionally, DOTD announces that beginning Monday, July 31 until Saturday, August 5, the I-10 westbound inside lane from LA 347 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge will be closed for the installation of concrete barriers.

Work is estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project. This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing the lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from La. 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in 2020.
