Interstate 10 – Lane and ramp closures - Lafayette and St. Martin Parishes

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that the following work is scheduled to take place along I-10:

On Wednesday, June 7, the eastbound left and right lanes of I-10, between LA 31 and Sawmill Overpass will have intermittent lane closures for striping operations.

On Wednesday, June 7, the westbound right lane of I-10, between LA 328 and Weigh Scale will be closed for W-I-M Loop operations.

On Thursday, June 8, the westbound left and right lanes of I-10, between LA 31 and Sawmill Overpass will have intermittent lane closures for striping operations.

On Friday, June 9, the westbound left and right lanes of I-10, between Vermilion River Bridge and I-49 will have intermittent lane closures for striping operations.

On Friday, June 9, the eastbound left and right lanes of I-10, between Vermilion River Bridge and LA 328 (Breaux Bridge) will have intermittent lane closures for striping operations.

On Saturday, June 10, the westbound left and right lanes of I-10, between Sawmill Overpass and LA 328 Overpass will have intermittent lane closures for striping operations. Additionally, the I-10 westbound on and off ramps at LA 328 (Breaux Bridge) will have intermittent lane closures for striping operations.

On Saturday, June 10, the eastbound left and right lanes of I-10, between LA 31 and Sawmill Overpass will have intermittent lane closures for striping operations. Additionally, the I-10 eastbound off ramp at LA 328 (Breaux Bridge) will have intermittent closures for striping operations.

On Sunday, June 11, the eastbound right lane of I-10, between the on-ramp at LA 328 and Sawmill Overpass will be closed for installation of concrete barrier rails.

Beginning Sunday, June 11 until Tuesday, June 20, the westbound left lane between I-49 to the Vermilion River Bridge will be closed for installation of concrete barrier rails.

Beginning Wednesday, June 21 until Thursday, June 29, the eastbound left lane between LA 328 (Breaux Bridge) to the Vermilion River Bridge will be closed for installation of concrete barrier rails.

All closures are estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

There are no restrictions for permit loads.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.

The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge. The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).

The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
