UPDATE: REOPENED – I-49 northbound & southbound between mile markers 161 & 163, DeSoto Parish

UPDATE: The northbound and southbound lanes of I-49, between mile markers 161 and 163, in DeSoto Parish have been REOPENED.

Please be advised of the next scheduled closure for the same section of I-49, set for Monday, May 15, 2017 between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Original notification:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises motorists that on Friday, May 12, 2017 and on Monday, May 15, 2017, the northbound and southbound lanes of I-49 between mile markers 161 and 163, just south of the US 371/LA 177 interchange in DeSoto Parish, will be closed from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

This work is associated with the movement of AEP’s Dolet Hills Mining equipment.

The lane closures will happen on Friday night and Monday night only, not Friday THROUGH Monday.

Alternate Route: I-49 northbound traffic will be detoured to LA 174 east, Exit 155. I-49 southbound traffic will be detoured to US 371 east, Exit 162. Detour signs will be in place.

Restriction/Permits: Roadway closed
