This closure of I-10 from LA 328 (Breaux Bridge) to I-49 scheduled from Thursday, May 18 until Sunday, May 21 is CANCELLED. Work will resume on Monday, May 22. Thank you for your patience during this time.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Wednesday, May 10 until Wednesday, May 26, the eastbound shoulder and outside lanes of I-10 from LA 328 (Breaux Bridge) to I-49 will be closed for construction work.

The closure is estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

There are no restrictions for permit loads.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project. The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge. The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the first of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

Awarded to James Construction, this project will begin in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
