PORT BARRE, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, March 20 until Monday, November 6, there will be alternating lane closures on U.S. 190 (Ronald Reagan Highway), between LA 742 and Bayou Courtableau Bridge, for road work.

Alternating lane closures will take place in the eastbound direction between La. 742 and just west of the old Fruit of the Loom factory (city limits). Alternating lane closures will also take place in the westbound direction between LA 742 and Bayou Courtableau Bridge.

The work is estimated to begin Monday, March 20, at 7 a.m., weather permitting.

The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12 foot lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.

This work is related to the $3 million project that will cold plane, patch and overlay a 5.71-mile section of U.S. 190.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause.
