LANE CLOSURE
HICKORY AVENUE
(Between Harahan VFW Hall and Harahan Fire Station)
Beginning on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 7:00am and ending on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 6:00am Hickory Avenue will close. During the closure, Hickory Avenue will be closed in both directions. Local access will be maintained at all times.
The following detours will apply:
• Northbound Hickory – take 9th Street to Dickory Avenue to Gardner Street back to Hickory Avenue.
• Southbound Hickory – take Gardner Street to Dickory Avenue, to Mounes Avenue to Edwards Avenue to Jefferson Highway back to Hickory Avenue.
This closure is necessary for construction of a new sewer line crossing Hickory Avenue to service Harahan Playground and is a part of the Harahan Pump to the River, Intake Basin, SELA project. Veterans Contracting Group LLC is performing the work at an estimated total project cost of $9,840,000.
