I-55, Tangipahoa Parish

There will be a mobile striping operation on I-55 both Northbound and Southbound, from the overpass at US 51 Business (Milepoint 23.51) to the Mississippi State Line (Milepoint 65.81). The contractor will be installing raised pavement markers on the centerline. Traffic will be impacted beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 and will continue nightly (between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.) on the Northbound side of I-55 and then move to the Southbound side of I-55. All work (weather permitting) is expected to be completed by 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013.
STATE TROOPERS WILL BE ON HAND TO MONITOR TRAFFIC FLOW.
Permits: By law, oversize loads are not allowed to travel at night. Emergency vehicles will have access.
Detour Info: To avoid delays, motorists can use US 51 which is located to the East of I-55 and runs North and South, essentially parallel to I-55 in this area.
