The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that, weather permitting, on Thursday, October 27, 2016 road construction work will begin on LA 181 from the Evangeline Parish Line to the intersection of US 71.
This 3.6 mile long road base rehabilitation construction project will consists of cement treated subgrade layer, in-place cement treated base course, superpave asphaltic concrete pavement, and related work.
This contract was awarded to the low bidder, Diamond B Construction Co., LLC in the amount of $1,715,363.06.
Permit/Detour Section
No wide loads will be allowed beginning October 27, 2016. The roadway will be open to traffic at all times; however there will be lane closures. Unpaved roadway conditions will exist during base course construction.
