The West Larose Vertical Lift Bridge on LA 1 crossing the Intracoastal Canal Waterway in Larose, LA will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, May 27th and from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31st. These closures are necessary so crews can move large equipment and materials for the north fender beam installation. The bridge will be open to vehicular traffic over the Memorial Day weekend.
Alternate route(s) around the work zone, during closure times are as follows:
Northbound: LA 1 across the New Larose Vertical Lift Bridge to LA 308 north
Southbound: LA 1 across the Belle Vue Swing Bridge (LA 3220) south of Lockport or the T-Bois Vertical Lift Bridge just north of Larose to LA 308 south.
