The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, U.S.71/165 at the Curtis-Coleman Bridge over the Red River, between Alexandria and Pineville, the Southbound structure will be opened to traffic. At this time, we will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction; i.e., one lane of traffic on the northbound bridge and one lane of traffic on the southbound bridge. The intent of the one lanes of traffic is to allow the contractor to continue working to complete the roadway approaches to both bridges.

The opening of the southbound bridge is anticipated to take place between Noon and 3:00 pm, weather permitting. Motorists are asked to stay alert and follow directions given by contractor’s personnel and existing traffic control devices. It is anticipated that there will be a minimum of disruption to traffic or delays during the switching of the southbound traffic on US 71/165 to the new southbound bridge.
