Lafourche Parish- West Larose Vertical Lift Bridge

The West Larose Vertical Lift Bridge on LA 1 crossing the Intracoastal Canal Waterway in Larose, LA will be closed continuously to vehicular traffic, in the next several weeks, in order for LADOTD’s contactor to perform various structural installations and repairs as part of a multi-million dollar rehabilitation project. The specific closure times are as follows:
• Continuous closure from 7:00 a.m. on Friday March 18, 2016 until 5:00 p.m. on Monday March 21, 2016
• From 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 22, 2016 to Friday March 25, 2016. Outside of the aforementioned closure times, the bridge will be open to vehicular traffic.
• From 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday March 28, 2016 to Friday April 1, 2016. Outside of the aforementioned closure times, the bridge will be open to vehicular traffic.
• Continuous closure from 7:00 a.m. on Monday April 4, 2016 until 5:00 p.m. on Friday April 8, 2016.
Alternate route(s) around the work zone, during lane closure time are as follows:
Northbound: LA 1 across the New Larose Vertical Lift Bridge to LA 308 north
Southbound: LA 1 across the Belle Vue Swing Bridge (LA 3220) south of Lockport or the T-Bois Vertical Lift Bridge just north of Larose to LA 308 south.
