SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that beginning Monday, February 25, work will begin on La. 511 (East 70th Street), from La. 523 (Line Avenue) to Fern Avenue.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the eastbound and westbound direction while crews work to relocate utilities in preparation for construction activity.

The project will widen the eastbound and westbound lanes of La. 511 between Fern Avenue and Creswell Road and construct a center turn lane.  In addition, the project will resurface the existing roadway.

Construction is expected to take approximately one year to complete.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

DOTD regrets any inconvenience this necessary work may cause and appreciates your patience.
