The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday, March 21, 2016 construction will begin on LA 127 in Winn Parish. This work will begin at the intersection of LA 127 and LA 1238 and proceed Northwesterly for 7.41 MI along LA 127 to its intersection with LA 126, where the project ends.

The intent of this project is to cut 12” of soil cement, 12” of subgrade treatment, and then overlay the roadway with 3.5” inches of Superpave Asphaltic Concrete. Associate work includes replacing several cross drain pipes and pipe extensions, placing aggregate surface course shoulders, pavement striping, and replacing existing mailboxes.

The contractor will be required to maintain thru traffic at all times, but periodic lane closures and delays can be expected. The public is advised to remain alert to construction signs and changing roadway conditions.

The project was awarded to the low bidder, D & J Construction Co., LLC in the amount of $3,862,910.90. The work associated with this project should take approximately 90 working days to complete.

Permit/Detour Section
Thru traffic will be maintained so there will be no detour routes for this project or width restrictions.
