LA 56 will be closed to vehicular traffic at mile post 3.82 (3.82 miles north of Cocodrie, La) from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday March 9, 2016 and Tuesday March 15. The closures will be short term throughout the two (2) hour periods on the two (2) days mentioned above. This closure(s) are needed in order to allow the Terrebonne Parish Levee District’s contractor to perform testing on the newly installed floodgate across LA 56 at that location. An emergency levee access ramp has been installed so that authorized emergency vehicles only can pass when the gate is closed
