BRIDGE CLOSURE: LA 521 replacement project, Claiborne Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is investing in the replacement of three rural bridges along LA 521 in west Claiborne Parish.
The $6 million project is set to begin on Monday, March 18, 2024, with the closure of the LA 521 over Little Indian Creek to allow the contractor, Specialty Trackhoe and Dozier Service, Inc., to begin the process of removing the existing structure.
The other two bridges include LA 521 over Sand Creek drain and Indian Creek (see included maps for specific locations).
The entire project is anticipated to be complete in Fall 2025, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: LA 2 on the south side of the closure, and LA 615 on the north side of the closure.
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
