Update: Contractors plan to reopen all 3 repaired lanes of US 90 eastbound

Update: 12:00 PM, Wednesday, February 7, 2024:
Jefferson Parish contractors have alerted DOTD of their intentions to open all 3 lanes of US 90 Eastbound (Jefferson Highway) between Central and Shrewsbury by this evening. On this schedule, the reopening of all 3 lanes is a day ahead of schedule.
Contractors will return in approximately 30 days to install the permanent asphalt surface after the road has had time to settle. Any lane closure announcements will be posted ahead of schedule.
DOTD thanks area residents for their patience during the repairs.
Update: As of 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, Jefferson Parish contractors and DOTD have re-opened the far left lane on US 90 eastbound (Jefferson Highway) between Central and Shrewsbury Rd. More updates to follow.
Special Notice: Due to issues related to a water main break in Jefferson Parish, a portion of Jefferson Highway (US 90) is closed to vehicular traffic. Eastbound traffic will be detoured between Shrewsbury Rd. and Central Ave. Drivers who generally use this portion of Jefferson Highway for their commute should allow extra time this morning. Detour signage will be posted. Updates will be posted when available.
