EXTENDED: OVERNIGHT ENGINEERS RD DETOUR

BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces an extension of the upcoming partial closure and detour around southbound Engineers Rd at LA 23 through Saturday, October 7.

This will be in place overnight from 7:30PM each evening to 5:00AM the following morning. This is necessary to maintain public safety while asphalt work is being done.

During this work, motorists will be unable to travel through Engineers Rd from southbound LA-23 in either lane. Motorists wishing to access the closed area of Engineers Rd will need to utilize the detour, which routes traffic to Lapalco Blvd, through Wall Blvd, and over to Harvey Blvd. LA-23 will maintain normal traffic flow during this work. This detour is the same that was used for previous Engineers Rd work. A map of this detour is provided.

Additionally, during the day from 8:00AM - 2:00PM, the southbound left lane of LA-23 will be closed between Engineers Road and Barriere Road from October 2 - October 7.
