Belle Chasse Bridge & Tunnel Project: Upcoming Traffic Shifts

BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Team announces two lane shifts occurring Monday, September 11, 2023 - Friday, September 22, 2023.
One shift will be on LA 3017 (Engineers Road) in both the northbound and southbound directions. Traffic traveling northbound and southbound on Engineers Road will shift to the newly constructed roadway between LA 23 and N. Cazalard Rd.
The other traffic shift will take place on northbound LA 23. Traffic traveling northbound will shift right to the newly constructed roadway between LA 3017 (Engineers Rd.) and the Algiers Outfall Canal Bridge.
Both of these shifts will involve recurring lane closures between 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM – 5:00 AM.
The work is in preparation for the new Belle Chasse Bridge. All work is weather permitting.
