ACADIA PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the intersection of LA 367 and LA 370 in Acadia Parish will be converted from a two-way to a four-way stop on Thursday, January 13, 2022, weather permitting.

Prior to the install, advanced notification will be placed at the intersection on Thursday, January 6th, 2022, to emphasize the upcoming change.

This change comes after a request to examine the intersection for possible safety improvements.

As a reminder, motorists should practice the following when approaching a four-way stop:

  • The first vehicle to arrive has the right-of-way. However, motorists should always yield to approaching emergency vehicles.
  • When two vehicles arrive at the same time, the vehicle to the right has the right-of-way.
  • When two vehicles approach at the same time head-to-head and one is turning, the vehicle going straight has the right-of-way. In the same scenario, if one vehicle is turning right and one is turning left, the right turning vehicle has the right-of-way.
