DOTD announces a project to improve US 171 in DeRidder

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces a resurfacing project for US 171 from US 190 to West Drive in DeRidder.

The $560,000 project will include new drainage structures, installation of ADA ramps, curb repairs, mill and asphalt overlay, and permanent striping.

Work is estimated to begin Monday, November 2, 2020, and expected to be complete by early 2021. Motorists can expect to see intermittent lane closures throughout the duration of the project. Lane closures will be announced as needed through MyDOTD.

When conditions are too cold to continue with asphalt operations, the project will be halted. R. E. Heidt Construction is the contractor for the project.
