Intersection of LA 792 and LA 154 in Jamestown, Bienville Parish converted to 4-way stop

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the intersection of LA 792 and LA 154 in the Village of Jamestown, Bienville Parish, has been converted from a 2-way to 4-way stop.

This change comes after a request to study the intersection for a possible change to the stop configuration. Based on the results, it was determined that it would be appropriate to covert the intersection to a 4-way stop to improve safety.

As a reminder, when approaching a 4-way stop, the first vehicle to arrive has the right-of-way. However, motorists should always yield to approaching emergency vehicles.

When two vehicles arrive at the intersection at the same time, the vehicle to the right has the right-of-way.

When two vehicles approach at the same time head-to-head and one is turning, the vehicle going straight has the right-of-way. In the same scenario, if one vehicle is turning right and one is turning left, the right turning vehicle has the right-of-way.
