Dept. of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for Statewide Projects

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that 13 projects around the state were let on June 24, 2020. Eleven contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $32.4 million.

“This most recent letting will feature 13 new projects to enhance our transportation system,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “Even in times of funding issues and a global pandemic, we’re proud to be able to continue improving our state’s infrastructure for its citizens.”

The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:

Pavement/ Overlay:
  • Milling,overlay, and drainage on LA 138 between LA 593 and LA 2 in Morehouse Parish: $6,018,748.69
  • Milling and paving on LA 1225 between U.S. 71 and LA 6 in Natchitoches Parish: $2,615,901.02
  • Grading, milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on U.S. 190 between Bayou Teche and Bayou Courtableu in St. Landry Parish: $3,941,097.26
  • Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 1 between the LA 1 Bridge and Falgout Lane in Lafourche Parish: $3,857,777.00
  • Milling, patching, overlay, and traffic signalization on LA 16 between LA 42 and LA 1034 in Livingston Parish: $2,494,563.42
  • Grading, milling, patching, overlay, and traffic signalization on I-10, LA 39, and U.S. 90 in Orleans Parish: $6,249,467.02
  • Milling, overlay, and raising I-55 service road in St. John the Baptist Parish: $2,984,185.84
  • Grading, patching, and drainage on U.S. 90B at Claiborne exit ramp in Orleans Parish: $371,790.00
Congestion Mitigation and Safety:
  • LA 5 realignment and drainage improvements in DeSoto Parish: $1,838,784.05
  • Installation of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) equipment along I-110 in East Baton Rouge Parish: $1,198,955.55
  • RCUT (J-turn) installation on U.S. 190 at Longbow Drive in East Baton Rouge Parish: $280,242.26
  • Signage and pavement striping on U.S. 90 at Caton Street in Orleans Parish: $32,395.00
Other:
  • Sidewalks, landscaping, paving, and drainage on S. Williams Boulevard in Jefferson Parish: $489,939.40

Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
