NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reminds the motoring public that the Judge Seeber (Claiborne Avenue) Bridge continues to be closed in both directions for maintenance.

The closure schedule is as follows.

  • Friday, February 23, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The contractor will be performing work to replace the traffic barrier, which has been inoperable for over six months due to a malfunction. DOTD personnel has been positioned near the bridge gate during openings, since that time.

The suggested alternate routes are the St. Claude and Florida Avenue bridges.

All maintenance activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near the active work zone.
