Lafourche Parish- La 655 Rita Swing Bridge

The Rita Swing Bridge on LA 655 crossing Bayou Lafourche in Lockport, LA is currently closed to vehicular traffic until further notice due to a mechanical failure. The bridge will remain swung open for marine vessel traffic and closed to vehicular traffic continuously until all repairs are completed.
Alternate routes around the bridge closure are as follows:
• The LA 654 bridge (a.k.a. Champagne-Harrelson or Gheens Bridge) approximately 2 miles north of Lockport, LA
• The LA 3220 bridge (a.k.a. Belle Vue or Bollinger Bridge) approximately 1.5 miles south of Lockport, LA
