Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 9:55:29 AM
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, October 16 until Friday, October 20, there will be alternating lane closures of the inside left eastbound and westbound lanes from the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge to LA 347, for the installation of concrete barriers.

The closure is estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

There are no restrictions for permit loads.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project No. H.003014). This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing the lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from LA 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in 2020.
