BATON ROUGE, La. – As people in the flood-impacted areas of Louisiana begin to go back to their jobs, the Department of Transportation and Development would like to provide some possible tips to assist those who lost vehicles.
• State and local agencies as well as private employers are advised to set up employer-based carpools so their employees with cars can help those employees without cars.
• Employers could allow employees who lost vehicles in the flood to use company-owned vehicles to go to and from work until their vehicles become available.
• Agencies and private employers could also allow telecommuting for employees in applicable jobs who have lost their vehicles but can work remotely.
