Loyola Drive at I-10 Interchange Improvements


PROJECT OVERVIEW: Construction of two additional elevated fly over ramps going to and from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International airport to New Orleans.  In addition, improvements to the existing at-grade interchange at Loyola and I-10 which will include a Diverging Diamond Interchange.  Design-Build contract amount of $125.6 million.




STATUS: DOTD Executed a Notice to Proceed for a Design-Build contract on August 30, 2019.  Test Piles were driven in November 2019, with construction work beginning in late March 2020 on I-10 mainline. Construction contract completion date of November 2022.  Project Environmental documents can be found here.

CURRENT ACTIVITY: Review of I-10 mainline design submittals, right of way acquisition, utility relocations, and early construction activities.
