The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) proposes to construct an exit ramp on the left hand side of I-110 southbound in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish. Construction of the ramp would begin on I-110 over Myrtle Avenue, extend over Julia Street, to intersect with Terrace Avenue.
The proposed project would be located on southbound I-110 from its location over Myrtle Ave. /Myrtle Walk Street down to Terrace Avenue (see attached map). The ramp will consist of a 15-foot wide travel lane with a 6-foot outside paved shoulder and a 4-foot inside paved shoulder. Approximately 100 feet of new roadway is to be added. The existing raised median on Terrace will be removed and a center turn lane added. Additional work includes replacing a portion of the barrier rail on I-110 and installing traffic signage.
During construction, traffic will be maintained using existing alignment with lane closures. I-110 would remain open to through traffic at all times. No additional right-of-way will be required. Temporary construction servitudes are foreseen. Relocations are not anticipated.
