The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that starting on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, construction work will begin on I-49 from 1.1 miles south of LA 485 to the Desoto Parish Line, and on the I-49 overpasses of LA 485 and LA 174.
The scope of work includes Cold planing Asphaltic Concrete Pavement, Pavement Patching Superpave Asphaltic Concrete Pavement, SMA Wearing Course, Striping, Guardrail and Related Work. This project was bid on 03/11/2015 and the contract was awarded to Gilchrist Construction CO, LLC for the amount of $9,149,596.05. There are 175 calendar days allowed for this project.
Permit/Detour section
Local traffic will be maintained at all times but there will be periodic lane closures and minor delays associated with this work, on the main road and side roads. There are no width restrictions at this time.
