RIVER ROAD TRAVEL LANE REDUCTION

The City of Baton Rouge in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will hold an Open House Public Meeting at the following time and place:

The proposed lane reduction of this portion of US 61 (River Road) from four lanes to three lanes is consistent with adopted downtown Baton Rouge master plan recommendations to more safely connect the central business district to the Mississippi Riverfront by creating a more pedestrian friendly environment for visitors. In conjunction with the lane reduction, DOTD is proposing the resurfacing of this section of roadway.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the proposed resurfacing and lane reduction, and obtain input from interested parties. DOTD representatives will be present to answer questions, including information about construction timelines and project consistency with master plan recommendations for downtown Baton Rouge. A continuous presentation will be shown. Verbal comments may be recorded and written comments will be accepted. Written statements can also be mailed to the address shown below. Statements postmarked within 10 days of this meeting will become part of the transcript of the meeting.
